- Intellectual encouragement
- Opportunities to strengthen their communication skills
- Prioritization of wellness to build their emotional resilience

To meet students’ needs, Stanford University originated the concept of Life Design, which is now implemented across the nation.
In the fall of 2026, Life Design will be integrated into the first-year student experience through one-on-one advising and group sessions to determine what compels or motivates them.
